Child On Bench Waiver Information

USA Volleyball has added a policy, effective February 6, 2025, to allow rostered adult staff to have their child (age 8 & under) on the bench at National Championships and Junior National Qialifiers. To do this, the child needs a free 8U membership from their region, and the parent must submit a completed waiver form and the child's membership card to the tournament director at the championship desk for approval. The approved waiver and membership card must then be presented to the R1 official before each match. 

Key Details 

• Effective Date: February 6, 2025.

• Applicable Events: USAV National championships and National Qualifiers.

• Membership: A free USAV 8U membership is required for the child.

• Waiver: A Child on the Bench Waiver Form is necessary.

Steps to Use the Waiver 

• Register: Get the child a free 8U membership through your region.

• Complete Waiver: Fill out the Child Waiver Form.

• Check in: Present the waiver form and the child's membership card to the tournament director/championship desk at the event.

• Get Approval: The tournament director will review, approve, and sign the form; keep this approved form.

• Show Official: Before each match, show the approved waiver form to the R1 official.

Important Notes

• The child must remain in the allowable bench area once warm-ups begin. 

• This waiver is only for the children of rostered adults on that specific roster.
