When one team has exclusive use of the court, the other team must be at their bench; they may not use balls or be in the spectator areas.

The event will have some balls for traveling teams to borrow.  They will be available at both Championship desks and will be given out on a first-come, first served basis.  A representative will need to leave a photo identification at the desk and will receive it back when the balls are returned at the completion of the wave.

Officiating Duties:

The officiating team will consist of SIX people:

  1. 1 2nd Official

  2. 2 Linepersons

  3. 1 Official VolleyStation scorekeeper

  4. 1 Visible Scoreboard Keeper

A team that fails to have a complete officiating crew available for an officiating assignment - including a rostered adult (preferably a team coach) for that team - at the time the court official is ready to proceed can be penalized by losing points in the first set of its next match.  For every minute an officiating team is late to fulfill its assignment, one point will be awarded to that team’s next opponent in the first set of the next match, up to a maximum of 25 points.  Penalty points begin to accumulate at the start of the receiving team’s warm-up.  An adult listed on the event roster must be present at the scorer’s table and easily identifiable while any members of the team are officiating. Each team will also be responsible for providing the device on which the online scoring system of VolleyStation will be used.

Guidelines for scorekeeping can be found at the following link:  https://usavolleyball.org/resources-for-officials/indoor-scorers/

VolleyStation:

The SCVA is happy to announce the use of electronic scoring app, VolleyStation. Live scoring updates will be available during the event at this link: scva.volleystation.com. If you need to brush up on how to use the app before match day, you can find official tutorials and documentation in this link: VolleyStation Score
