OFFICIALS INFORMATION
Thank you for your interest
in the SCVA.
SCVA Season
The SCVA operates between the months of November and June.
Our boys season runs from early November through mid-February,
takes a break for the high school season, and then resumes
for the month of June. Our girls season begins in January
and continues through June. Overall, there are tournaments
every weekend (excluding Easter).
Payscale
The SCVA pays per game, depending on experience and certification.
For the 2012/2013 season, the following will be the payscale
per game: Provisional Officials (P1 and P2)- $7.50, Regional
Officials (R1, R2, and R3)- $8.00, Junior National Officials
- $9.50, National Officials - $10.00, and International Officials
- $10.50. For Inter-Regional Events the payscale will
be the following per match: International - $34, National
- $32, Junior National - $30, Regional (R1, R2, R3) - $26,
and Provisional (P1, P2) - $24.Paychecks are disbursed based
on a set pay schedule (approximately once a month), with a
recap of games worked. Please note: Officials will
only be paid if all registration is complete (see below).
Registration
Procedure
Individuals interested in officiating for the SCVA must 1)
attend one of the scheduled clinics (see below), 2)
submit the necessary paperwork, and 3) register
online (outlined below). Officials
must RSVP to Mel Cayetano at mel@scvavolleyball.org
to which clinic he/she will be attending.

All second year and new officials will be
required to do on-court training from 1:00pm to 2:00pm following
the instructional clinic.
One must attend
a clinic to be eligible to officiate for the 2012/2013 season.
The SCVA is
offering four clinics this year. One must attend one
of the clinics to be eligible to work for the upcoming season.
All level of officials are welcome at each of the three clinics.

as to which clinic you are attending.
Forms
- The necessary forms are available on our website (click
here) or by requesting an Officials packet from the SCVA
office (714-917-3595). Each SCVA Official MUST submit
the following forms:
1.
SCVA Adult Registration Form
2.
USA Volleyball Background Screening Consent Form (every other
year)
2. Independent Contractor Form
3. Officials' Availability Form
4. $60 check made payable to SCVA
Online
Registration - This year, all SCVA members
must register online to complete the registration procedure.
Once all the above forms and fees are received, you will eligible
for assignment.
Assignments
- Each week, usually by Tuesday or Wednesday, the assignments
for the upcoming weekend's tournament will be posted on the
"Assignment" page of our website Every effort will
be made to accomodate individual requests, drive time and
availability.
