Girls Tryout Dates

and Commitment Dates

 

Beginning with the 2007/2008 season, the Southern California Volleyball Association will be implementing regulations on tryout dates and commitment dates.

For the 2011/2012 season, all junior girls clubs are eligible to host tryouts for the various age divisions on the following dates:

        

         1. Girls 14 and Under Divisions - October 1st, 2011

         2. Girls 15 and 16 Under Divisions - November 5th, 2011

         3. Girls 17 and 18 and Under Divisions - November 13th, 2011

Please note, the SCVA highly recommends and encourages all junior players to wait until their high school season is over prior to trying out for the club season.

For the 2011/2012 season, all junior girls clubs will have a commitment date no earlier than the following dates for the various age divisions:

         1. Girls 14 and Under Divisions - October 10th, 2011

         2. Girls 15 and 16 and Under Divisions - November 14th, 2011

         3. Girls 17 and 18 and Under Divisions - November 21st, 2011

A commitment date is defined as the first date that a club can obtain a deposit as a means for accepting a spot for their club team and have the deposit be non-refundable.   A club may accept a check prior to the commitment date and cash the check.  However, if a refund is necessary, the club has until December 31st to issue the refund.

In addition, no club may offer a spot on a team before the following dates for the various age divisions:

         1. Girls 14 and Under Divisions - October 1st, 2011

         2. Girls 15 and 16 and Under Divisions - November 5th, 2011

         3. Girls 17 and 18 and Under Divisions - November 13th, 2011

Please note, that for a club to be eligible toparticipate in regional events, or to receive an invitation to the Las Vegas Classic, the club must abide by the tryout and commitment dates set forth by the SCVA.  However, abiding by the tryout and commitment dates does not guarantee entry into these events.
